Coming and going

Basilica de la Sagrada Familia
This week was great. We were able to meet with our amigas Gloria and Mari twice this week to help prepare them more for baptism. Our amiga Gloria said she had told the missionaries she wasn't interested in their message years ago when she lived in Venezuela, and how sad she was that she had gone that long without realizing what she could have had in her life. Even as members sometimes we take for granted the blessings the gospel of Jesus Christ brings to our lives or at times even keep ourselves from receiving blessings.

We were also able to meet with La familia de Rensol and Roxana this week and got permission to eat in their house. This week we met with a lady named Nena who had a lot of questions and her daughter who was on holiday from school who lives in England. We also got to see some other missionaries this week that came for interviews. This coming week will be busy as we have scheduled several missionaries to get their residency and also getting the missionaries who have completed their missions back to Barcelona and to the airport so they can be home in time for Christmas.

Push the button of humility

Just a quick note. This week we stayed busy because we had a mission tour. Our area president Elder Sabin spoke to our mission throughout the week. One thing I liked that he said was "push the button of humility", it is something we can all work on. It was broadcasted through zoom. Even with all the office responsibilities we were able to teach again this past week.

On top of the world

We have continued teaching our amigos Mari and Gloria. We were able to do a virtual tour of the Madrid temple with Gloria. She also decided to bring her friend Luis to the lesson. We also started teaching Yesica a lady I met on Facebook this week who is from Peru and was taking the lessons from missionaries there before she moved here two years ago. Other than that we have stayed busy driving people around, getting residency done, and this week I worked on getting a bunch of old ipads ready to be sent off. Last week we hiked Montserrat.  You can google that if you like. Enjoy the pictures.

#GiveThanks - #LightTheWorld

Thanksgiving
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.  These past few weeks have been a lot of fun. One of the perks of being in the office is we were able to celebrate Thanksgiving here in Spain. Thanks to Hermana Galli making a feast for us and the hermanas in our district. We even got to play some spike ball on the beach. Not football on Thanksgiving, but who can complain about playing on the beach in Spain. #givethanks. Since we work most of the day together it is like I have six companions instead of just having one.

We have been fortunate to not spend all of our time in the office and have been able to teach some also. A lady in our ward lives in an old person residency so we have been teaching two of her friends. This week after teaching about the Plan of Salvation one of them asked us if she could be baptized! So we're planning on the 28 of December. We have also started teaching a new family of 5 from Peru but have lived in Spain for most of their lives. We have also visited with a few families in our ward. Other than that we have been making travel plans for people, getting things sent, cars, different records, and other stuff. We have been showing and sending the video of the prophet to a lot of people about the healing power of gratitude. https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org

Also, Light the World starts this week. I hope you have continued to Light the World this past year, but in case you have been busy and life has kept you from sharing your light recently, take a few moments each day to Light the World again this Christmas season. We can follow the example of Jesus Christ by serving those around us. Jesus fed the hungry, helped those in need, clothed the naked, showed love to others, taught, and picked others up. You can follow his example by volunteering and serving as He served. His is the Light of the World.  This Christmas season share the light. Take a moment and watch the two minute video on the following link. Even in 2020, the light of hope still shines bright. #LightTheWorld.  https://www.comeuntochrist.org/light-the-world-2020

Change is Good - part 2

Hola. This week has been very crazy. I got moved the day before transfers to Barcelona. I am going to miss Alicante and our amigos there. I am now serving as a mission secretary and am currently in a trio with Elder Johns and Elder Boden. This will be different for the next several months. We still have the opportunity to teach people, but most of my day I will be helping with all of the behind the scene activities that help the mission function.

Another Alicante sunrise

We live in a seven man piso with the media specialists and assistants. Which is a fun change since it has been just me and my companion in all of my previous areas. We are all together for most of the day in the mission office. Which is located in a very nice area of Barcelona. Not too far from Camp Nou (all of you soccer fans should know what that is). Tuesday and Wednesday we ended up just driving people to the airport and train station all day because of transfers. It was fun to get to see other missionaries. Other than that I have just been trying to learn what to do, and there is a lot to learn. Also Wednesday it was Elder Gomez's birthday so we got pizza.
