the work moves forward

A quick note. This week was pretty good. We were able to have some return appointments with some of the new people we met last week. Our amigo Jaime brought one of his friends with him to the lesson we had with him. Also we met with quite a few less active members this week. We met with one lady and she gave us the number of a guy she was in contact with. They must have been talking about religion and somehow both came to find out that the other was a member. It was pretty funny.

Some lady stopped us in the street this week and didn't know what ward she was in but invited us over to eat. This week we had an Elders conference and got to hear from the senior missionaries. Also this week I gave my first talk in church about missionary work. For preparation day we did a hike with the Fosters to a Christ statue.

the good life

This week has been amazing. Probably the best in my time here in Mallorca. Last week we did quite a bit of finding. So this week we had a lot of citas set up. We ended up teaching a lot of English classes as well.

There are quite a few people from Argentina here in Mallorca so we met with a lot of new Argentine amigos. Including Tristan and Fatima, Christian and Valeriano, and Agustina. Christian had only been here for five days when we met with him. We were also able to meet with a guy named Alex this week. In our lesson with him we just talked about the atonement of Jesus Christ. It was great to see how much it helped him. We also taught a guy named Agustine who is Mallorquin and his wife Gladys.

Besides teaching a lot of new people we were able to keep working with our other amigos and pass by some people in our branch who are less active because some restrictions have been quitado here. We also were able to go to the Fosters house (they are senior missionaries) on Saturday and eat with them. We had lasagna and salad. It had been a long time since I had a salad. It tasted so good. For pday it has been raining most of the day so we ended up going inside the big cathedral here in Palma.

Alma 7:11-13

11 And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people.

12 And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities.

13 Now the Spirit knoweth all things; nevertheless the Son of God suffereth according to the flesh that he might take upon him the sins of his people, that he might blot out their transgressions according to the power of his deliverance; and now behold, this is the testimony which is in me.

Press Forward

A quick update since my last email. We've had a lot of lessons cancel on us. This happens to all missionaries so this is not really news. We continue to press forward. We were able to have Zone Conference last week and we are still doing those using zoom. Our mission is really pushing family history through Roots Tech right now.  So if you haven't already done so, go to familysearch.org and get started on your family history today.

The people we have on date to be baptized are struggling a little bit. It always amazes me that once people commit to being baptized how Satan works overtime to try to keep them from making this great change in their lives. But we are stronger than him and we are working overtime also to help get them there.

Port de Soller
We have been able to meet with more of our new amigos this past week. We also had intercambios with the Inca Elders this week on Wednesday. So I got to be with my previous companion Elder Hunt and then on Thursday we had intercambios again but with the Elders we live with. So I was with my MTC companion Elder Griffin. We were also able to meet with a guy named Freddy this week from Colombia who hadn't been taught by the missionaries here in a while. Also some of the government covid restrictions are being taken off here. So hopefully we can meet with people outside of the church as well this week.

¡Tenga una buena semana!
