English classes

This week we met a lady from Uruguay named Sofia who wanted to practice her English. Not sure why she wanted to practice because her english is fantastic.  So afterwards we were able to teach her about the Restoration of Christ's church. Also our amiga Haila who is the daughter of the family from Brazil is trying to learn English so we taught her and three of her friends who are also from Brazil.

On Sunday we had the baptism of Leonel. It was at a pool of a member because we still can't meet in the church. Some members of the ward came and at the last minute our amigos Galo and Mercedes showed up with one of their amigos.

3 Nefi 11:33 "And whoso believeth in me, and is baptized, the same shall be saved; and they are they who shall inherit the kingdom of God."

Rise and Reach

This week was the start of a new youth program in Spain called Rise and Reach. It lasts three weeks and is split up into age groups by the stakes. Each age group has two counselors and missionaries as well. We teach twice a week about the lessons. We did an activity where we had them write down 10 things they were grateful for from the Restoration.

Also we were able to teach a few new people English. Sunday we went and taught Mercedes and Galo. After, they fed us baked fish wrapped in banana tree leaves. Galo gave me a big one because he said I was skinny. Everyone started unwrapping the leaves and it was different sections of the fish. So with mine being the biggest I knew before I opened it that I would have the fish head. At least they had already taken out the eyeball.  Yesterday was a busy day with lots of appointments. It is too bad everyday can't be like that but I suppose that is life on the mission.

Viva Alicante!

This week has flown by and we were able to see a lot of milagros. We started teaching a part member family from Brazil. Last week we invited our amiga Kelyn to read a specific section of the Book of Mormón but she forgot and read a section about baptism. So we invited her to be baptized and she said yes. Also this week we had intercambios. So the Elders from Elche came and I was with Elder English. We taught our amigo Armand and were able to set up a baptismal date with him. We taught an antigua amiga named Pilar this week and she had been reading a lot of the Book of Mormón so we set a baptismal date with her as well.

We also had zone conference this week. My companion and I had to teach, so we talked about how to effectively teach English classes and work with members. We also wrote and sang a funny song to go with it. My friend Arom from Pamplona was also finally able to get baptized. I am so happy for him. He had been patiently waiting during this time with Covid.  We are also fortunate to eat at a couple of more peoples homes this week. One of them was from Argentina and they made us Asado. It was pretty much all you could eat meat. It was so good. We have been blessed here in Alicante. Viva Alicante!
